1. Introduction

Welcome to TRUKR. We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and share data across the TRUKR (Freight) and RIGR (Machinery) platforms.

2. Data We Collect

We collect various types of data to operate our logistics marketplace effectively:

• Identity Data: Names, company details, KYC documents (IDs, business registrations) required for verification.
• Logistics Data: Real-time location data (GPS), route history, and telemetry from vehicle and equipment trackers.
• Financial Data: Payment processing is not currently enabled in TRUKR. If a payment provider is added, this policy will be updated to describe the data collected and shared for that service before it is enabled.
• Device Data: IP address, device identifiers, and usage metrics via the TRUKR mobile application.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

• Facilitate freight bookings and equipment rentals.
• Provide real-time tracking for shippers and contractors.
• Payment processing is not currently available.
• Assess route risks and calculate dynamic pricing.
• Comply with cross-border customs regulations and legal obligations.

4. Data Sharing & Security

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Verified carriers/shippers or equipment owners/renters to facilitate transactions.
• Third-party service providers needed to operate enabled platform features. No payment processor is currently integrated.
• Customs authorities for cross-border documentation.

All data is secured using industry-standard encryption, role-based access control, and edge network protections. We adhere to GDPR and local African data protection regulations.

5. Your Rights & Kenya DPA 2019 Compliance

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 and platform governance standards, you have the right to access, rectify, or request permanent deletion of your personal data. You may also object to processing or withdraw telemetry consent at any time.

6. Account & Personal Data Deletion

In compliance with Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v) and Google Play Data Safety policies, TRUKR provides direct, transparent account deletion:

• In-App Deletion: Open the TRUKR App > Account tab > tap Delete Account & Purge Personal Data, and confirm the deletion prompt. Your login credentials, device tokens, and personal profile information will be purged immediately.
• Web / Email Request: Send an email from your registered email address to privacy@trukr.io with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Our Data Protection Officer will process and confirm your request within 72 hours.
• Statutory Retention Note: Pursuant to Section 23 of the Kenya Tax Procedures Act, 2015 and anti-money laundering regulations (POCAMLA), historical transaction ledgers, eTIMS tax invoices, and cargo manifests are pseudonymized and archived securely for a statutory five (5) year compliance period.
